The coronavirus pandemic continues to impact the Appraisal Institute, individual appraisers, and the valuation profession as a whole. Join us as we hear from 2020 Appraisal Institute President Jefferson L. Sherman, MAI, AI-GRS, and Chief Executive Officer Jim Amorin, CAE, MAI, SRA, AI-GRS, who will discuss how the organization is facing these issues head-on and what the future looks like.

Jefferson L. Sherman, MAI, AI-GRS
President, Appraisal Institute

Jefferson L. Sherman, MAI, AI-GRS, of Highland Heights, Ohio, is the 2020 president of the Appraisal Institute. He will serve as immediate past president in 2021, when he also will chair the National Nominating Committee. He serves this year as chair of the organization’s Executive Committee and chairs its policy-setting Board of Directors. Sherman has served nationally on the Board of Directors (2000-02), Finance Committee (chair in 2018 and vice chair in 2002), Nominating Committee (2002), Education Committee (2010-13), International Relations Committee (2016) and Strategic Planning Committee (2017). Jim Amorin, CAE, MAI, SRA, AI-GRS
CEO, Appraisal Institute

Jim Amorin, MAI, SRA, AI-GRS, of Austin, Texas, has been chief executive officer of the Appraisal Institute since August 2018, having served as acting CEO from August 2017 through August 2018. He serves on the organization’s Executive Committee and on its policy-setting Board of Directors as a non-voting member. He was the 2009 and 2017 Appraisal Institute president, and has served twice each as the organization’s president-elect, vice president and immediate past president. He also has chaired or served on the Appraisal Institute’s Executive Committee, National Nominating Committee, Finance Committee, Audit Committee, Strategic Planning Committee, General Appraiser Council Admissions Committee, Qualifying Education Committee and the AI Relief Foundation Board of Directors, in addition to region and chapter roles. Read more.
