NCAI’s Member Spotlight highlights professionals across our network. This feature introduces Ryan Hlubb, Jr. and his journey in the appraisal industry.
My journey into the appraisal business runs in my blood. My grandfather, Paul Hlubb, built a career in this profession from the ground up, and my father, Ryan Hlubb, followed in his footsteps so by the time I came along, the world of valuation was less of a foreign concept and more a common dinner table conversation. Growing up immersed in that environment made the decision to join the profession feel less like a choice and more like a natural next step.
After graduating from High Point University in 2024 with a degree in Finance and Economics, I dove headfirst into the business. Currently I am based out of Charlotte, NC. Almost two years in, I am weeks away from earning my Certified General license, with my sights already set on the MAI designation.
Membership in the Appraisal Institute has opened doors I could not have opened alone. Through my father's deep involvement, I witnessed firsthand the value of the connections and resources this organization offers and I am only just beginning to tap into them.
Taking on the role of Chair of the University Relations Committee for NCAI is something I do not take lightly. Our profession is one that most young people simply do not know exists. My goal is to change that to get in front of students, tell them what we actually do, and show them a career path that is intellectually demanding, financially rewarding, and genuinely essential.
